EHS Today: Workplace Injuries Rise Following Change to Daylight Savings | EHS Today

They must have set their alarm for 2 am. to advance their clock forward one hour and could not get back to sleep. Maybe a lack of education here on someone's part or training. We could just leave the time alone at daylight savings time and we would not need all this lack of common sense!

I don't even know why we still have the whole stupid daylight savings time requirement anyway. It no longer serves any useful purpose and is just a irritating and unneeded fact of life.

Get rid of it and you get rid of the adverse effects...ALL of them.

I think a more interesting thing to consider is the part of the brain called the hypothalamus. This regulates a number of critical functions within our bodies. Numerous studies on Jet Lag have shown very real symptoms and effects to the body with even a hours time difference. Could DST cause a similar effect on the body? Can we apply lessons learned in addressing Jet Lag to the negative effects of DST?
    Just a thought!

My solution is to turn the clock's back the afternoon before the actual time change, that way, even though my body is saying it's not time for bed, my brain can override my body clock and assure I get enough sleep. Eliminate the changing of clocks by either keeping DST all year or go back to standard time all year, that would solve all the problems associated with the change.

"Barnes pointed out that is not uncommon for people to complain how tired they are when they lose sleep."
Strange, I've never seen this phenomenon before.

The first U.S. President who does away with DST will be a hero! He/she will have my vote for sure...finally addressing an issue that causes these problems might be the most productive and appealing move ever.
